I admit ever since a gained more of a belly after having my daughter ahem many years ago, more often than not I would not wear any form fitting clothes. I stuck with loose clothing, I’m still kind of there with that not loving the belly etc.. sticking out. However, I am getting better and am trying to set an example to my daughter who has the opposite challenge of being very tiny and slim that we love our bodies as they are. As long as we’re happy and healthy that’s what matters right?

Does this shaping dress magically make all my bulges disappear? No it doesn’t and I wouldn’t expect it too as I’m not expecting miracles. Neither do I want to wear tight/too firm shapewear underneath that will smooth out my tummy more as anything like that is usually too uncomfortable after a few hours and I end up getting all sweaty. Shapellx also has sculptwear and I love that they’ve categorized them from super comfy to extra firm so if that’s for you go for it but you don’t need anything additional with this dress. They designed it so that the dress tucks it all in for you while still being comfortable.
The beauty of aging for me is that I’m becoming more comfortable with how my body looks including having a belly. This dress does smooth it out so it’s not a big bulge and is form fitting enough being a Built-In 360° so I don’t look as lumpy. I get to wear a nice dress, feel good about it and I’m comfortable. That’s perfect for me!
I love the ruching it gives the dress a classic, elegant look while helping to keep everything in place and I really love that built in bra shelf. So nice to not have to wear a regular bra underneath and worry about straps slipping or it becoming uncomfortable after hours of wear.
This dress is sooo comfy. I did struggle with the sizing. I’m a 38B, 149lbs, 33″ waist and 40″ hips, I re-measured everything to make sure I hadn’t gained or lost (I wish haha) and going by their sizing guide I fell between the Large and X-Large. However, I’m wearing the this ruched shaping dress in the XXL and I’m comfortable in that.
I also tried the Built-In 360° Tank Ruched Shaper Dress the beautiful blue color (photo below) and for this one I tried the XL size. I could get the dress on but it was more of a struggle as you can feel how much tighter it is. I could wear the dress and it still looks nice but for my own personal taste and comfort I found it a bit too tight. It did smooth out the belly area more and my family said it didn’t look any tighter but for myself if felt a little too tight for extended wearing. Baby steps people, the fact that I’m wearing a form fitting dress at all is a BIG step for me haha.
I do adore the blue color so I’m hoping to work myself up to the tank ruched shaping dress. No matter your comfort level this shaping dress really is made for all shapes and sizes and looks good on everyone.
