Find Your Child’s Perfect Shoe Size with Jenzy
Finding the perfect shoe for your child can be a nightmare, honestly. Not all kids are old enough to tell you how well it fits and squeezing the toes only tells you so much. Jenzy has solved this problem with the brand-new, innovative iOS Jenzy app to not only size your child’s foot accurately but also shows you what shoes come in that size and can be purchased right away.
The App
Jenzy launched just last week on June 26th, 2018 so it is truly a new thing! It is available in the iTunes app store for iPhone and iPod touch devices. It was quick and easy to load onto my phone. It’s not very memory heavy, so it doesn’t take up much space, opens quickly, and runs smoothly.
Sizing the Feet
The app uses your built-in device camera to take a measurement of your child’s foot. The Jenzy app has clear, easy-to-follow instructions as to how the photo must be taken for an accurate measurement. First, you select “add a child” and fill out the info. A birthdate let them know how old the child is so they can properly account for the size of their feet. Then you take a photo of a standard sized card for reference. This can be an old expired credit card (with an invalid number please!), membership card, or state ID card. Just make sure it doesn’t have any personal details, just in case. I used my Costo card.
The tricky part, especially with young kids, is to make them stay still long enough to get the photo of their foot next to the card. My 4-year-old couldn’t stop jumping around! For the photo of the foot, you want to see the whole outside edge, from the back of the heel to the end of the toes. Once you’ve got your ideal photo, you line up the foot within two lines and the card within a box. Then just hit submit and the app does the rest! Jenzy is optimized for measuring children 0-6 years old for US sizes 4-13.5 or 19-31 EU.
Shopping Time
The Jenzy app has a wide variety of children’s shoes to choose from. The one thing they all have in common though is that they are all top rated, durable, and properly made for developing feet. If you’re going to buy shoes for your kids, you want the best for their feet. Shoes that have the proper amount of flexibility, support, and do not fall apart within a month.
We picked out a pair of water-friendly sneakers from Pediped for my 4-year-old. He calls them his “Fast Shoes” with their bright green stripe. It was easy to browse through all the available shoes, all of which were guaranteed to be available in his size, which is displayed at the top of the screen. Now, I’m all for letting my kids wear whatever they want, despite “gender norms”, but my 4-year-old is all boy. They currently do not have an option to sort by “unisex/girl/boy” but you can sort by color, brand, price, and type of shoe. However, it was not difficult to use and choose a pair of shoes.
It was simple to add the shoes to the cart and go to check out. You can pay with a card right within the app or with Paypal. I chose Paypal and did have to be redirected to my Safari browser to check out. The first time through it did not seem to read back to the app. So I started over and tried again and it went through just fine. Maybe a minor hiccup. I was not charged twice so it was just some miscommunication between Paypal and the Jenzy app that obviously didn’t’ happen again. The Jenzy app displayed my purchase confirmation and I received an email.
Following Up
Not long after, I received another email from Jenzy. Not some automatically generated message, but from a real person. This is what is great about Jenzy. Once an order is submitted, your photos are analyzed in-person to verify the foot size. I was informed in my email that they thought the app recommended size could work, but maybe going 1 size up was better. Since my kids grow like weeds, I agreed. The shoes we chose were available in the slightly bigger size, so my order was updated and processed.
The shoes arrived maybe a week later. It was very fast. We tried the shoes on my 4-year-old and they were wonderful. I felt they were a bit big, but only because he usually does not wear socks, LOL. With socks, they are perfectly sized and still allow some room to grow. The shoes themselves are great and my 4-year-old was tearing back and forth across the yard in no time. They are not loose and did not slip or fall off. Nor was he tripping over the toes of over-large toes. He can easily put them on and take them off himself, so that’s a huge bonus to me!
My Final Thoughts
I tend to love a lot of things I review, I do not deny it. This app is a necessity for any parent. It makes getting shoes for my kids SO easy! Plus I love knowing that these are all amazing quality shoes. They can run and play in comfort and style and for a good long time. Even in the low light of my dining room at night, the camera and app captured the needed images perfectly. The shoes we got fit perfectly and my son loves them. There might be a bug or two in the app, but what app doesn’t have a bug or two right at launch. Since downloading it The Jenzy app has already had an update or two, showing they are actively working on and improving it.

This is so cool. It can be hard trying to figure out the best size for my kids and now they have taken all that hard work away. I love it.
I am not much for using apps on my phone, but this one seems to be one to try. We have 2 children still in the sizes that this would work for. Maybe we can hope that other companies can come up with something like this for older children and even adults (actually my 9 year old grandson’s feet are larger than mine!)
If you buy their shoes on line you would be a fool not to go with this app. It is mind blowing that they can do this and get the size right. Also a real person called you WOW…………

I get leery whenever I see the words “high-end” or “top-rated”. It means high price. With four kids under 5, feet grow fast. Are Target or Walmart shoes on here? I love my kids and want the best for them, but we can’t afford shoes from other stores.

This app would sure save me a lot of trouble on trying to find the right fit
